Philippines Outreach

     Samar is located in the Visayas region of the Philippines (middle part of the country).  Samar Island is made up of 3 provinces - Northern Samar, Eastern Samar and Western Samar. Samar is one of the poor areas of the whole country. There is also great spiritual poverty in this area. Hence Samar has become a prime focus of Philippines Outreach.  This area will likely be one of our main targets for many years to come.

• There are approximately 2100 communities (barangays) in all the provinces of Samar. Around 75 percent of these communities DO NOT have a Christian church.
• We presently have ongoing ministry and church planting in a place called Marabut, Samar.
• We reached Samar due to a super typhoon that hit the Philippines a few years ago. Much damage was done because of that typhoon. God opened the doors for us us to be involved in relief efforts in the Marabut area. That resulted  in us starting a church and ministry in Osmena, Marabut.
• We hope to see more churches planted in the Samar area in the coming years. There is a definite shortage of workers for the Gospel in Samar.

     Jec Apao is one of our workers in Samar.  She reaches out to children and others.  Jec also serves as "house parent" for a number of poor youth that stay with her in our ministry center.

     Each day we feed a number of people in our house/ministry center.

      This is a picture of our house/ministry center. This serves kind of as our headquarters in Samar. We contiue to work on this to bring about improvements.
