A Mission Society Reaching The Philippines and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Everyday over 75 Filipinos die from Tuberculosis (TB). TB is a treatable sickness and can normally be cured with the proper medicines taken for the recommended time period. Yet many of the poor in the Philippines either do not have access to the proper treatment or they do not complete the proper treatment. Philippines Outreach works in coordination with World Christian Fellowship, the Philippine Department of Health (DOH), the TB Research Unit of De La Salle University and other groups in an attempt to deal with the TB problem in the Philippines.
This little girl was one of our previous patients some years ago.. She got well from TB and until now she regularly attends one of the churches that we help out.
We use DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment Short course) in providing treatment for our TB patients. This involves actually bringing TB medication to the homes of the patients and observing them as they take the medication. This helps insure that they finish the full 6 month treatment program.
As of June 2018, Danny and Joy Idos lead our TB treatment ministry.
